The 1110 Vermont Ave. team celebrating at the 2017 NAIOP DC|MD Awards of Excellence ceremony

Enter the 1110 Vermont Ave. amenity lounge, where the team transformed an unfinished basement space into a warm and welcoming urban oasis. In only 6,700 square feet, the team constructed a meditation space, gaming and lounge area, large conference room, pantry, café/bar, communal eating space, and skate-park inspired theater seating.

The project offers a space for collaboration, networking and gathering where tenants can work together, socialize and be a part of a community outside the typical office space.

The centralized meditation pod was designed to offer a space of quiet and rejuvenation for tenants of the building. Time spent in this sound-inhibited, calming room, allows people an opportunity to shed stress for a more productive work day. Having a space to decompress is enormously beneficial for mental and physical well-being and these moments of peace and quiet are a rare and invaluable opportunity, especially in downtown D.C.

The unique space stands out as a pioneer in Washington, D.C. commercial real estate, attracting tech-focused companies and ensuring the building remains a leader in D.C.’s crowded commercial real estate market. As the line between work and home life becomes less distinct and professionals are demanding a positive work-life balance, this project demonstrates a team that is positioning things positively for the future.
