Client: Walton Family Foundation
Architect: OTJ Architects
Project Type: Non-Profit
Location: Washington, DC
We demolished the space and completely built out the new Walton Family Foundation suite as well as two sub-tenant spaces. The client selected many recycled materials, such as reclaimed wood and newspaper wall covering, and equipment that would save energy. We consulted with them on selecting an environmentally conscious lighting system that adjusts the level of light based on the amount of sunlight coming in. A few other challenging details that we skillfully handled were rerouting piping to get around an air duct and changing a floor-mounted toilet to a wall-mounted toilet.
